It looks like Denver has an outstanding pass rush and its defence
is going to be one of the better units in the NFL this season, they are going
to bring a tremendous amount of pressure down on Alex Smith in this game. Defence is where the Bronco’s are at their
strongest and they will have to be as Peyton Manning’s arm looks gone, he’s
still a top quality QB and his experience and quick thinking will still win
plenty of games but here against the Chiefs excellent pass rush he’s going to
get hurried like he was last week against the Ravens where he was sacked 4
times.
Can Denver’s offence get into the redzone before the 4th
quarter against the Chiefs is the question I’m asking myself?
Now, if Denver gets the run game going early which in my
opinion they need to as Manning’s arm’s shot we could be in for a close match
as the Chiefs run defence and secondary are there weaknesses.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a team that runs the ball very
well and they have one of the best running backs in the league in Jamaal
Charles, they will enjoy some success here. Denver’s defence should be able
to stop the Chiefs passing game though by shutting down the areas Smith likes
to throw to.
I thought this game would be a pick or Chiefs -1, this is an
important divisional game for both teams and +3 on the Broncos is a steal, in
my opinion it’s an over-reaction to Manning’s physical condition after being beaten
up by the Ravens and his inability to throw the football deep. Denver’s defence
will keep this game close and if they can run the ball successfully they could
even win so all things considered take the +3 Denver at 2.11 with Matchbook.
